The week through the lens:

Hung out at Reggie's
made a beautiful risotto, studied and ran the bridges a couple of times.
would love to wake up to this view every morning!

Creative Project
73 photos were posted in the end and were put into this scrapbook album. Tomorrow it'll be handed in to the state government.

Insightful, terrifying and hopeful reading

Tutorial
We were given an egg, 1,3 m tape and 10ish straws and were told to collaboratively make a protective armour for the egg so that it wouldn't break when dropped from certain heights. We came in second!
Love that this was uni time hehe

Creative Project Day
Full day at uni going through everyone's amazing creative projects!
Urban landscape made from secondary resource materials i.e waste
Seedlings randomly placed throughout Perth to encourage people to grow their own food

Finally, the place where I spent most my time this week; work.

Fast track

Not enough time!
Friday:
Ian's Birthday celebrated at this lovely spot.
Here I also met Will from the Inbetweeners, well his doubleganger at least!
After some really good wine we headed over to Mojo's for reggae night.

Saturday was another full-on day of lectures (yes you read it correctly) with Peter Newman and Brad Pettitt.
Good inspiration which was needed to sit inside on a beautiful Saturday!
However, tired yet high on coffee I went home to get ready for The Aviary - Rooftop bar better visited early evening as it was a bit chilly and dark.
The Aviary is a little bit pretentious so we headed to a place where that certainly wasn't an issue.
Hula Bula Bar!

Been staying a bit with Reggie by the river. After this royal treatment I'm seriously considering never leaving. Sorry Caecilie. ;)
I'm very proud to say that I ran the bridges for the first time! 10 km in pretty much an hour on the dot. Not bad for someone who doesn't think she can run....

The view from work, that is something you certainly can't complain about.
And on that note it's time to go to work.

I *heart* cycling

I started this project out of frustration over the transport system in Perth.
Man, it's backwards here! Cars rule the streets and you better watch out as a pedestrian or cyclist.
So I wanted to change that.
Inspired by online petitions I wanted to do something related but totally different.
This Facebook event is the turn-out:

Essentially, it is a nameless, creative petition in photo form whereby all the photos submitted will be put into an album and handed over to the state government to urge them to put cycling higher on the planning agenda

Here are some of the awesome photos posted so far:

Please feel free to join the event and spread it amongst your friends!
10 days remain to submit your photo and let Perth know why you love cycling...

The week in photos

Sunday sundowner at Stanger's place in North Freo

New running shoes and more motivation

Community building

Creative Project
I was fiddling around on the ground in the middle of the street (in Perth pedestrians stay off the streets....) trying to find a good angle from which to photograph my project, the truck. With Passenger blasting through my head phones I didn't hear the car sitting patiently waiting behind me. I turn around and get off the street smiling and waving apologetically. He just smiles back and I see that the car has "photographer" written on the side of it. I guess he understood an artist's perspective hehe
